He
was stuck so deep…so deep down in the darkness. It was cold, and he was all
alone… His dreams made him special, and they hated him for that. So they got
rid of him, by throwing him down the well.
But
he wasn’t scared.
---
He
had the chance to help them. He had the chance to set them free, but their
arrogance drove the anger within him, and his anger drove him away from them.
He went far away into the sea, where his bad choice of actions, led him into
the dark belly of the whale.
But
he didn’t let go.
---
He had it all. A
lovely wife, wonderful children, money, health…all he could ever want. One day,
it all went away, leaving him as a sick dying man with no one by his side.
But he didn’t stop
there.
---
It was this
feeling they had. The feeling that no matter how bad things are going,
something good is going to happen very soon. The feeling there is always a way
out no matter how bad it looks.
Yes. You say these
are just stories. But I think there is something magical about them. Ever since
I was a kid I would love listening to my teacher tell stories. They always took
me away from all my responsibilities, worries, and pain, into a world of
adventure, excitement, hope, and suspense. But there was one thing they all had
in common: AN ENDING, and I hated that. And so whenever the phrase “happily
ever after” was spoken, I knew that I had to go back from the world of
adventure back to my responsibilities. Fortunately, my entire system rejected
that, and the stories may have ended in reality, but in my head they always
went on. The action, the fighting, the hope, the love, the pain, the
characters…all of it kept going on in my head, and I would DREAM about joining
the characters in their adventures.
But really as I
grew up, I began to realize these stories were much more than just the details.
These stories had another thing in common: They had morals. They had lessons we
could all learn from, and characters we could relate to.
And you have
something to relate to here…
Because
the story goes on, that the guy in the well has faith, and his faith leads to
his dreams coming true!
And the guy in the
whale, admits his misdeeds, and God rescues him from the whale and he saves his
people from the dark.
And slowly,
slowly, the story of the guy who lost everything, turned all the way around.
And this is where
you come in. This is the point when the story…ends? No! It doesn’t! Good
stories never end! They go on in YOU! This is when you put down the book, and
become the hero of the story. This is when YOU become Joseph, Jonah, or even
Job (peace be upon them). This is when the evil pharaoh manifests in your own
life as your own troubles. And do you stop and cower before his feet? No, you
become the Moussa (pbuh) of YOUR story, and stick up to the pharaoh in your
life. And when you’re given the choice between right and wrong, this is when
you remember how the villain perished for his/her wrong choices.
So WHAT ARE YOU
WAITING FOR?! Are you just gonna sit there and cry in the dark? You didn’t read
these stories for nothing! They are a symbol of what’s going with you.
And now.
Now is when you
remember all the stories you’ve ever read, and RELATE to them. Your once upon a
time may not be a happily ever after and sometimes the story doesn’t go the way
we want it to. Relax! You have to remember that God is writing your story, and
if you chose to let go, someday you’re gonna look back and realize that
everything was going exactly as it should, and now, everything is just the way
you wanted it to be…but…you’re not part of the story! Because you didn’t chose
to be involved, you chose only to read.
So here you are
now, stuck in a dark, cold, wet, stinky well with only faith by your side.
People hate you because you DREAM, and you’re left alone, because of all the
wrong choices you’ve made. Do you wanna know what happens
next? Go check the story out, and let the story go on…
Subhan Allah this reminds me of a hadith: "Tooba (blessedness) is for the strangers." It was said: "Who are they Allah's messenger?" He صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

"Those who reform if the people become corrupt."
