Your Tongue

By Badria Hajjar

Don’t mistake your tongue for being something weak

There is a reason it is hidden in between your two your cheeks

Your tongue can be used as a weapon of charm

And at the same time; it can be used as a weapon to harm

It can scar like a knife and pierce like a thorn

It can sometimes make a person wish they weren’t even born

A word said is a word that can’t ever be taken back

A word said unwisely can turn a friend’s heart pitch black

So use your weapon wisely and don’t let it go astray

Let it be a ray of light on someone’s sad and gloomy day

Don’t mistake your tongue for being something weak

Guide it, control it and think before you let it speak

  1. Love it ! It reminded me of something I read earlier this week "Be sure to taste your words before you spit them out" :)
