Sight of the Heart

By Noura Soubra

We went to a center where kids can't see
They were limited but so were we
We lived our lives thinking it was hard
But it was others we forgot to regard
Visually impaired, yet happy and grateful
For the blessings they had, I felt a bit shameful
They needed no pity, they were satisfied
By playing with them we were gratified
They taught us a lesson that I'll never forget
The most important sight is that of the heart
