War, Death, pain and blood

By Badria Hajjar

War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
Children dying in the dozens
Paving their roads to the heavens
War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
Tyrants overruling for the money
Ripping innocent souls like they’re some dummy
War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
People and children starving to death
Pure skin and bones unable to take a breath
War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
Teens being abused by their peers
Hopeless, in pain, shedding tears
War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
Men beating their wives
Women crying over their miserable lives
War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
Innocent girls raped and beaten
Left with scars that will only deepen
War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
Homeless children begging on the street
No shelter, no clothes and nothing to eat
War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
A family living with minimum wage
Trapped inside a financial cage
War, death, pain and blood
What happened to the world we once loved?
No care, no shame, no one to say enough
No one to stand up and fix any of this stuff…
